The UK Parking Structure 8 project includes two concrete structures in Lexington, KY. The project consists of a 7-story parking structure – an expansion to the existing UK hospital parking structure – and a new 4-story office building that will be the new home of the UK Police Department. Both are owned by the University of Kentucky Project highlights include: over 71,000sf of walls/upturn beams, 12,000cy of concrete, 664 tons of reinforcing, and over 300,000 lbs. of PT. D&M self-performed all foundations, walls, columns, and both structures. We also self-performed the shoring/decking on the office structure. The project required building the office structure first, then building the garage between the new office and the existing open garage along with the complexity of decking the angled and sloped beam in the office structure.
