Co-Op / Internships

Dugan & Meyers LLC strives to recruit top students whom we can entrust with challenging project assignments that complement the student’s education and post-graduation career goals.

There are many ways a student can learn about the construction process and the responsibilities of professional constructors by working for Dugan & Meyers. Our managers have worked with Interns/co-ops and new graduates for many years and have a solid understanding of the needs and expectations of students at all levels.

Intern/Co-op Assignments at Dugan & Meyers typically fall into one of the following categories:

Estimating: Perform quantity take-offs for the estimating process. Call subcontractors; assist with management of subcontractor database. Participate in the procurement and submission of bids.

Project Engineer: Shadow Project Engineer and assist with RFI’s, submittals, and other contract documentation. Become familiar with project plans and specifications. Project scheduling.

Superintendent: Work with the Project Superintendent in planning daily activities of the workforce, procurement of materials, and monitoring quantity and quality of work. Conduct time studies of workforce productivity.

Field Engineer
: Assist Field Engineer with lines and grades for construction layout (footings, columns, slab-on-grades). Interpret blueprints and provide layout in absence of head engineer. Set up transit, laser level and automatic level.

By the time our interns/co-ops graduate, they have had the opportunity to be exposed to several different facets of the construction field. By making a mutual investment in each other during school, our goal is to hire top candidates who are looking to join our project team.  We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a member of the Drug Free Safety Program.
